Join our Team and advance your career as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Grade H, you will lead the design, delivery and operation of secure, resilient enterprise solutions within your defined area. You will define requirements with partners, automate routine work, improve performance and provide technical leadership. You will provide hands-on engineering expertise while also shaping technical solutions, resolving complex cross-system issues and evolving our AWS integration architecture as our operational requirements grow.

In this role You will:

• Take technical ownership of the reliability, availability, performance and scalability of AWS-based integrations and services.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex cross-system incidents, including issues spanning multiple applications, APIs, queues, events and external contractor platforms.
• Lead root-cause analysis and ensure appropriate preventative improvements are implemented following significant incidents.
• Design, develop, maintain and evolve AWS-based integration services and infrastructure.
• Design and implement REST API, event-driven and message-based integration architectures connecting site management, ticketing, work-order and contractor platforms.
• Understand existing architecture and determine how it should be extended, simplified or redesigned to meet evolving operational requirements.
• Develop automation, monitoring and self-healing capabilities that reduce manual operational effort and improve resilience.
• Define and improve observability, dashboards, alert and logging using AWS CloudWatch and Grafana.
• Ensure appropriate security patterns are implemented across integration solutions, including IAM, OAuth 2.0, JWT, Client Credentials, certificates, Secrets Manager and role-based access controls.
• Own and continuously improve CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines, ensuring controlled and reliable deployments.
• Develop, solve and review Node.js applications, Bash scripts and integration components.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers, establishing good engineering, DevOps and operational practices.
• Work across engineering, operations, product, data teams and external partners to resolve technical issues and improve the effectiveness of our site-management ecosystem.
• Find opportunities to simplify architecture, automate processes, remove technical debt and improve operational resilience.

What You will need to be successful:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, AWS architecture and cloud design patterns.
• Deep working knowledge of services including CloudFormation, AWS SAM, IAM, EventBridge, API Gateway, Route 53, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Security Groups, VPCs, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch and AWS CLI.
• Demonstrable experience fixing complex distributed and cross-system issues involving multiple interconnected platforms.
• Strong ability to understand existing technical architectures and design, build and implement new capabilities on top of them.
• Strong understanding of synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven and message-based architectural patterns.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI v3 and JSON and experience designing and supporting enterprise integrations.
• Strong understanding of cloud security architectures including OAuth 2.0, JWT, Client Credentials flow, OpenSSL certificates, IAM, secrets management and role-based access controls.
• Strong hands-on experience developing and solving Node.js applications and Bash scripts.
• Strong experience with Git, source-code management and collaborative engineering practices.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience, particularly with Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines, including designing, maintaining and extending pipelines.
• Strong experience with observability and operational monitoring using AWS CloudWatch and Grafana.
• Experience with Postman or Insomnia for API development and solving.
• Experience using OpenSSL CLI and certificate-based integration patterns, and ideally FTL templates.
• Excellent root-cause analysis, incident management and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to guide other engineers and communicate complex technical problems clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
