Job title: Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry
About the Role Join Getinge as a Senior Scientist leading laboratory research initiatives in analytical chemistry and formulation science. The role focuses on identifying new technology initiatives, analyzing data, and providing scientific guidance to support device development and marketing claims. You will provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams and develop procedures for lab investigations and feasibility experiments.
What You'll Do
- Identify, adapt, and advance new technology initiatives
- Analyze test data of new scientific theories and hypotheses
- Prepare and defend scientific rationales and justifications
- Serve as the subject matter expert on chemical activity, formulation, and analysis
- Provide scientific guidance and recommendations on new formulations and optimizing existing formulations
- Author high-quality technical reports and peer-reviewed publications
- Plan, execute, document and report lab activity to provide scientific data supporting marketing proof points of features on existing and new devices
- Develop internal procedures and standards for maintenance of laboratory investigation records, quality of invention releases, and feasibility experiment design
- Provide technical leadership for project team activities, team members, peers, and cross functional counterparts
- Assist in special projects as needed
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as requested
What We're Looking For
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Sciences, or related
- Minimum of three years of related experience in the medical device or other regulated industry
- Demonstrated research effectiveness; publication in peer review journals, presentations forums, etc.
- Strong statistical analysis skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing and computer skills
- Chemical, medical device, and packaging industry experience strongly desired
- Good laboratory and sciences skills expected, including documentation of activity
- A detailed understanding of the product development process is preferred
- Knowledge of FDA and Worldwide Quality & Compliance regulations (as applicable to job function) and the ability to comply
- Ability to attend required Quality & Compliance training; adopt the “Beyond Compliance Quality Culture” in the work environment; always meet and exceed requirements

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $126,000-$157,000/year + 8% STIP
