Job title: Senior Scheduler

About the Role The Senior Scheduler leads the creation and maintenance of project schedules across multiple nuclear development projects, reporting to the Project Controls Director. This role requires a strategic scheduling expert who ensures on-time, cost-effective project delivery through thorough planning, monitoring, and risk-informed decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the creation and upkeep of comprehensive project schedules, aligning with baselines, budgets, and risk management frameworks.
  • Engage during proposal development to estimate scheduling resources, contingencies, and timelines for competitive bids.
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded outage schedules with shift patterns and calendars for effective execution.
  • Coordinate schedules across databases and client platforms to maintain consistency and transparency.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier schedule progress, enabling proactive issue resolution.
  • Organize regular internal progress meetings to assess adherence, variances, and updates.
  • Perform CPM analyses with variance, risk, and contingency assessments to identify risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare detailed weekly look-ahead schedules, highlight deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement change management processes to capture impacts from commercial, contractual, and internal changes with transparent documentation.
  • Develop earned value management (EVM) dashboards and reports to visualize schedule progress and resource utilization.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior schedulers, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with clients and subcontractors to support detailed scheduling, risk management, and decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to work from the Oakville, Ontario office (onsite).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantitative Sciences, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project scheduling, specifically within nuclear or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP, estimation software, and other project management tools is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience in outage, maintenance, or turnaround scheduling environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract types (fixed price and time & materials) within EPC contractor settings.
  • Hands-on field experience in construction projects.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to adapt to evolving project dynamics and collaborate within diverse teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to schedule integrity, accuracy, and QA.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills tailored to engaging with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, dynamic project environments using innovative problem-solving approaches and a strategic mindset.
  • Recognized Project Controls expertise with certifications such as PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or AACE certifications.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and contributing to claim avoidance and negotiation.

  • PMI-SP or AACE certifications.
  • Familiarity with SAP, estimation software, and other project management tools.
  • Additional outage/maintenance/turnaround scheduling experience beyond baseline project scheduling.
