Job title: Senior SAP ABAP Developer
About the Role The Senior SAP ABAP Developer drives the design and delivery of scalable, high-impact SAP solutions, translating business needs into future-ready systems. The role partners with stakeholders and vendors to implement and optimize SAP ABAP-based solutions, configuration, integration, and testing while ensuring performance and business value.
What You'll Do
- Prepare high level designs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Prepare detailed specifications for configuration, integration, and/or coding.
- Implement technical solutions by configuring software packages or code development.
- Design solutions with performance considerations and partner with vendors on COTS and custom code.
- Participate in selection, implementation, configuration and integration of COTS software packages.
- Develop integration requirements and collaborate with the integration developer to implement.
- Develop and execute testing and implementation plans (unit, system, integration, user acceptance) and document results.
- Apply formal methodologies when designing and developing/configuring solutions.
- Participate in project planning; may lead a project of limited scope and guide others.
- Provide 24x7 research and resolution of production system problems; on-call support day and after hours.
What We're Looking For
- Education Level: 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
- Experience: 5+ years in the SAP ABAP/ERP development role.
- Language: English level C1 (Advanced).
- Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong ABAP programming background.
- Broad knowledge of SAP ECC Development.
- Experience with SAP transport system (preferrable).
- Knowledge of SAP debug tools and methods.
- Advanced solutioning, technical specification documents and integration mappings.
- Complex business process analysis, system analysis and design, problem solving.
- Familiar with a suite of COTS software packages; system integration, installation, deployment, customization, integration.
- PERL, MQ Series, Java, JavaScript, Linux, SQL, XML, Webservices, databases (Oracle, SQL Server), Eclipse, RAD, source code control & issue tracking.
- Testing at all levels and related tools; SDLC methodologies.
- Functional knowledge of businesses within SAP domains; SAP ECC Retail; SAP SRM/IP functional or development; SAP BW.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP transport system (preferred).
- SAP SRM/IP functional or development experience.
- SAP BW development.
