About the Role Located in Boston, the Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) Proteomics Core at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Senior Research Technician to apply mass spectrometry-based proteomics to study cellular proteomes in response to external stimuli. The role supports core users and collaborates with technicians, scientists, postdocs, and students on projects focused on targeted protein degradation as a therapeutic modality. A strong interest in MS-based proteomics and solid computational skills are highly valued.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for cell culture and performing drug treatments
- Perform proteomics sample preparation including cell lysis, digestion, peptide cleanup (e.g., S-Trap, SP3), and labeling (e.g., TMT)
- Run samples on LC-MS systems (e.g., Orbitrap, timsTOF) following standard protocols.
- Support routine QC checks and instrument maintenance under staff supervision
- Maintain accurate and well-organized lab notebooks and sample metadata
- Collaborate with core users to ensure timely sample processing and communication
- Assist in the implementation of new protocols and improvements to existing workflows
- Help train junior staff and contribute to a clean and safe laboratory environment
- Maintains and orders laboratory supplies
- Communicates with purchasing and may be responsible for negotiating with vendors You are trained on data up to October 2023.
