What You'll Do
- Actively source and underwrite new business to meet profitability targets and develop a profitable Renewable Energy book.
- Underwrite in line with Energy governance frameworks (Underwriting Authorities, Guidelines, Functional Rules).
- Oversee a globally consistent data set of submissions and historical loss results for the portfolio.
- Drive involvement of Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims and Operations in the Underwriting process.
- Manage referrals and undertake 4-eye reviews with other underwriters.
- Contribute to developing and executing regional underwriting strategy.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key producers, clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers.
- Provide training and support to junior members of the Energy team.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience underwriting profitable Renewable Energy business in large corporate international insurance.
- Backgrounds in Power or Construction with exposure to renewables are welcome.
- Strong relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level; well established in the market.
- Specialized understanding of regional/local Renewable, Engineering & Construction insurance markets and the competitive landscape.
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Good understanding of the legal and regulatory environment.
- Ability to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power or Construction backgrounds that include renewables exposure.
