About the Role The Senior Relationship/Trust Advisor, Wealth Management is responsible for managing complex HNW and UHNW client relationships and delivering high-quality fiduciary and administrative services. The role collaborates with the service team and client’s professional advisors to ensure timely, high-quality client service and to identify advisory solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead client conversations for life-driven wealth management and provide proactive advice on Northern Trust products/services, regulatory changes, and appropriate client actions.
- Manage an assigned book of wealth management clients, partnering with client service teams and advisors to understand client needs and goals.
- Explain complex concepts in non-technical terms and present advisory solutions; maintain knowledge of fiduciary standards and internal policies to manage risk.
- Cultivate relationships with referral sources and external professional advisors; identify and develop new business opportunities; participate in community/professional organizations; travel as needed.
- Mentor less experienced partners and provide leadership on fiduciary projects and committees; collaborate with internal and external partners to develop advice-driven solutions; implement complex multi-discipline initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- 12-15 years’ experience as a relationship manager in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, or related fields; experience with HNW/UHNW clients preferred.
- Ability to manage a complex portfolio of over a million and/or billion in assets under management (AUM).
- Knowledge of fiduciary and financial products; investments, tax, legal, and operations knowledge; fiduciary standards and applicable laws.
- Skills in negotiating, problem solving, delegation, leadership, and sales. Strong educational designations such as JD and/or CFP/CPWA strongly desired.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $164,600 - $288,000 USD; comprehensive benefits including 401(k) and pension, medical/dental/vision, spending accounts, disability, PTO, parental/caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary benefits; discretionary bonus program with potential equity component.
