We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Registrar in Radiology to join our medical team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services, participate in clinical care, and contribute to the training and supervision of junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI, as appropriate to level of training and competence.
• Assist in the diagnosis and management of patients through accurate and timely radiological reporting.
• Participate in radiology call duties, emergency imaging and departmental clinical activities.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior residents, medical officers and other trainees.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews and clinical discussions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and radiology reports.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, infection prevention protocols and hospital policies.
• Collaborate effectively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Participate in departmental audits, research, quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.
• Support the implementation of best practices and contribute to the overall efficiency of the Radiology Department.

Requirements

Education

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Radiology/Radiodiagnosis or evidence of relevant postgraduate training.
• Current registration and a valid practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Experience

• Relevant postgraduate experience in Radiology/Radiodiagnosis.
• Experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging setting is required.
• Experience working with CT, MRI, ultrasound and conventional radiography will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision, teaching, audit or research is desirable.

• Must possess a valid practising licence.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity and commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays and on-call duties when required.
• Must be willing to comply with organisational policies, clinical protocols and professional standards.

• Strong clinical and diagnostic reasoning skills.
• Good knowledge of radiological anatomy, imaging techniques and interpretation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Good report-writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in the use of relevant radiology information systems and medical technology.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
