Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior Recruiter (Contract) for a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation. This hybrid opportunity offers the flexibility to work remotely while collaborating onsite with the People & Culture team approximately two days per week in the San Francisco Bay Area.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Temporary Senior Recruiter will provide immediate recruiting support to a collaborative People & Culture team, helping manage approximately six open positions across the organization. This role will oversee full-cycle recruitment, partner closely with hiring managers, and develop effective sourcing strategies to attract qualified talent across a variety of professional functions. The initial assignment is expected to last three to six months, with the potential for extension based on organizational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for approximately six open positions, from intake through offer coordination.

• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, refine position requirements, and establish recruitment priorities.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications.

• Coordinate interviews, maintain timely candidate communication, and deliver a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

• Support recruitment across multiple departments, including People & Culture, Finance, Development, Operations, and specialized functions as needed.

• Maintain accurate recruitment documentation and progress updates while advising on candidate availability, compensation expectations, and hiring timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruitment and multiple searches simultaneously.

• Strong sourcing, interviewing, candidate assessment, and hiring manager partnership skills.

• Ability to recruit across diverse professional functions while managing competing priorities independently.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.

• Availability to work in the San Francisco Bay Area approximately two days per week; nonprofit recruiting experience and familiarity with applicant tracking systems are preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• This temporary contract position offers an hourly pay range of $45–$50, depending on experience and qualifications. The assignment is expected to last three to six months, with the potential for extension.
