Senior Real-time VFX Artist

About the Role Magic Media is seeking a Senior Real-time VFX Artist specializing in fantasy and semi-realistic visuals to contribute to an unannounced AAA title. You will craft visually stunning VFX in a proprietary engine and collaborate across disciplines to support gameplay systems. What You'll Do

• Work in a proprietary third party engine.
• Create visually stunning and stylistically consistent VFX.
• Create textures, static meshes and shaders for VFX assets.
• Collaborate with art, engineering and other teams to support gameplay systems.
• Create concepts, describe and develop ideas for visual effects.
• Optimize effects for performance on multiple platforms. What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of experience in the videogame industry.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight, self-reflective and able to critique your own work.
• Strong communication with art directors, TAs, engineers and cross-disciplinary team members.
• Deep knowledge in animation and art sense (color, shape, ratio, timing).
• Good knowledge of artistic VFX principles.
• Expert level experience with Unreal or Unity VFX creation.
• Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
• Proactive and open to creative solutions.
• Ability to independently and creatively solve VFX technical issues.
• Highly skilled with Photoshop, Substance or other texture authoring tools.
• Proficiency with Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini for mesh creation.
• Shader authoring skills using node-based editors like Shader Graph or Amplify Shader. Nice to Have
• Experience with proprietary or third-party engines.
• Adaptability to learning new engines and tools.
• Houdini.
• Embergen/Liquigen.
• Basic programming in C#.
• Simple animations in 3D tools.
• Substance Designer/IlluGEN or other texture authoring software.
