WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. Senior Real Estate Counsel:

ALO is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to play a foundational role in establishing and scaling ALO's business operations in EMEA, with a focus on Europe. This position requires a strategic, hands-on lawyer with real estate experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house, who is comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment with limited existing infrastructure. The role will cover commercial leasing, construction, general real estate matters and ongoing legal support across all aspects of ALO’s real estate business in the region.

The position will:

  • Manage real estate legal matters for ALO, including commercial leasing (tenant), construction agreements and general real estate matters.

  • Partner cross-functionally with business groups across the organization—including design, construction, finance and operations—to align legal strategy with business objectives.

  • Negotiate and administer design professional contracts.

  • Manage outside counsel, including scope, budget, and performance oversight.

  • Provide responsive, practical, and timely legal advice to business stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Identify and manage legal risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

The right candidate will have:

  • Law degree from a leading university and strong academic credentials

  • Qualified to practice law in the UK or EU; admission to a U.S. state bar or qualification in another common law jurisdiction is a plus

  • Five to ten years of relevant real estate legal experience, with a meaningful combination of work at a leading international or UK/EU law firm and/or in-house at a multinational company operating in Europe

  • Familiarity with Europe’s retail industries is a strong plus

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong work ethic

  • Outstanding analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Self-starter with ability to balance many projects simultaneously and complete tasks accurately, on schedule and with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to take initiative and work flexible hours to accommodate collaboration with U.S.-based teams

ALO offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including base salary, performance bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits consistent with ALO's total rewards program. Compensation details will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and local market benchmarks.
