About the Role
The Department of Basic Education is offering a Senior Provisioning Administration Clerk (Travel) to support key financial and administrative processes. The role involves verifying travel documentation, managing records, processing invoices, capturing data in the BAS system, and performing related administrative duties to ensure smooth operations.
What You'll Do
- Receive VA26As; verify compliance and provide approval stamp on the VA26A by issuing the order number.
- Register travellers on the approval book, make copies of VA26As, file originals, and scan VA26As for electronic storage on the H-Drive.
- Receive and stamp invoices on a weekly basis; compile invoices on the General Journal form and capture them in the BAS system.
- Record journals on the register book for finance queries; amend and rectify queries from the Finance Directorate; attend to internal queries with travellers and travellers bookers.
- Perform any other duties as delegated.
What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 certificate; a tertiary qualification will be advantageous; no experience required.
- Knowledge in travel and accommodation; knowledge of the BAS system, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and National Travel Policy Framework.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written); computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) and BAS.
- Ability to work as a team and under pressure; excellent client relations; strong organising, planning and problem-solving skills; general office management.
Nice to Have
- Tertiary qualification (advantageous).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: R228,321 per annum.
