About the Role American International Group (AIG) is seeking a Senior Property Underwriter to assess and underwrite property lines, manage broker relationships, and contribute to growth within the General Insurance division.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite within agreed decision making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority; assess risk desirability through broker submissions, NAT CAT modelling, and survey reports; maintain regular contact with brokers; review proposals, claims history and company information carefully; use underwriting systems to optimize data input and tracking.
- Provide accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.
- Deliver excellent service to brokers with timely, proactive underwriting; generate new business by expanding broker network, attending events, and building relationships; provide training to brokers on property products; support client meetings.
- Work with Property leader to execute sales plan, achieve individual new business targets, and manage renewals allocations.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations and team members to grow knowledge and ensure fair treatment of brokers and clients; maintain a customer-centric approach.
What We're Looking For
- Property underwriting experience or property lines insurance broking essential; other relevant experience may substitute.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented; time management; analytical and technical skills; ability to network and build relationships; attention to detail; organizational and customer-focused.
- Tenacious, motivated, proactive.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NAT CAT modelling; broker event experience; training and mentoring capabilities.
