Senior Project Manager, AI Initiatives

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager will coordinate the work required to establish the organization’s enterprise AI-agent foundation and deliver initial AI use cases. This individual will help organize priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks, stakeholder communication, and delivery activities across business, architecture, engineering, security, and leadership teams.

The role does not require the same depth of technical engineering expertise as the Senior AI Engineer or Senior Full Stack Developer. However, the project manager must be comfortable working in a technical AI environment and able to manage projects where priorities, requirements, and technologies are changing quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and delivery activities for the enterprise AI-agent foundation.

• Coordinate work across the AI architect, AI engineer, full stack developer, business teams, IT teams, and organizational leadership.

• Establish and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, priorities, and dependencies.

• Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, status reviews, and decision-making discussions.

• Track deliverables, actions, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Identify delivery blockers and work with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve them.

• Provide clear status reporting to technical and business leadership.

• Help teams define scope, priorities, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.

• Coordinate proof-of-concept, pilot, development, testing, deployment, and adoption activities.

• Support resource planning and sequencing across multiple AI use cases.

• Maintain appropriate project documentation and decision records.

• Help balance speed and innovation with security, governance, quality, and operational readiness.

• Manage stakeholder expectations in an emerging environment where scope may continue to evolve.

• Required Qualifications

• Professional experience managing technology projects from planning through implementation.

• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.

• Strong project-planning, organization, facilitation, and status-reporting skills.

• Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

• Ability to lead projects with ambiguity, changing priorities, and evolving requirements.

• Strong judgment, ownership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to bring structure and accountability to fast-moving initiatives.

• Willingness to work remotely while attending Capella Tower when needed.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing AI, data, analytics, application development, cloud, automation, or emerging-technology initiatives.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycles, agile delivery practices, and technical architecture.

• Experience coordinating information security, compliance, governance, data, and engineering teams.

• Experience supporting proofs of concept and moving successful pilots into production.

• Experience managing initiatives with both technical-platform work and business-facing use cases.

• Familiarity with organizational change, adoption, or communication activities related to new technology.
