About the Role Eskom's Grid Planning and Development unit seeks a Senior Project Development Specialist to provide technical and business inputs to conceptualisation, pre-feasibility studies and business planning of new capacity projects and upgrades to existing plants. The role focuses on developing capacity concepts and coordinating across disciplines within Project Development to deliver feasible business cases and deliverables. What You'll Do
- Research new capacity concepts
- Conduct pre-feasibility level analysis of potential capacity projects
- Compile feasibility studies and business cases
- Interact with other disciplines and management of interfaces, business requirements and queries
- Coordinate and prepare documentation related to project development deliverables
- Provide training and development What We're Looking For
- Qualification(s): B Degree/B Tech/Advanced Diploma in Built Environment/Commerce/Human Science at NQF7 with 360 credits
- Professional Registration: ECSA as Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist; or SACPCMP as Professional Project Manager or Professional Construction Project Manager
- Experience: Four years related experience in project management and/or project development environment
- Knowledge: PMBOK areas, project lifecycle model, environmental requirements for infrastructure projects, OHS Act, technical or commercial project development, relevant processes/procedures/policies/guidelines/legislation, cost analysis and economic evaluation, project management, contract compilation and management
- Skills: Analytical, technical problem-solving, communication/presentation, negotiation, budgeting, financial decision making, technical report writing, computer literacy (Microsoft Office), ability to learn and adapt to change
