Senior Program Manager, Catalog Strategy & Execution
The Senior Program Manager of Catalog Strategy & Execution is a strategic individual contributor role within the Global Manufacturing & Distribution Services organization. This position owns the critical link between enterprise procurement strategy and measurable buying behavior across Amazon. The role holder will consolidate what were previously separate project management and catalog strategy functions into a single, high-impact position that drives catalog integrity, program execution, spend compliance, and cross-functional alignment. This role also serves as the primary category liaison to the Category Strategy & Insights (CSI) team.
Key job responsibilities This role directly supports savings targets and contributes to the broader organizational goal of net cost reductions. The position influences procurement decisions, catalog architecture, and purchasing governance across Amazon's global operations. The role holder will be instrumental in transitioning the organization from a fragmented, reactive catalog administration model to a centralized, strategic catalog function.
Essential Job Functions
Catalog Strategy & Governance: Define, own, and execute the end-to-end catalog strategy for Global Manufacturing & Distribution Services. Align catalog governance standards including taxonomy, item classification, supplier mapping, and content quality requirements with the Global Procurement Central Services team.
Program Execution & Delivery: Lead cross-functional programs that translate sourcing decisions, supplier negotiations, and manufacturing investments into measurable catalog outcomes. Manage program timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation plans.
Spend Compliance & Adoption: Design and implement frameworks that drive enterprise-wide spend compliance with preferred supplier programs and negotiated contracts. Track, analyze, and report on user adoption rates and buying behavior to identify gaps and opportunities.
CSI Category Liaison: Serve as the dedicated interface between the Global Manufacturing & Distribution Services category team and Strategic Initiatives. Ensure bi-directional alignment on procurement priorities, market intelligence, and category roadmaps.
Savings Realization: Own savings pipeline and contribute directly to annual team savings targets. Develop business cases, track savings delivery, and report on financial performance against plan.
Catalog Operations Transformation: Redesign catalog administration processes to eliminate fragmentation, reduce operational burden, and enable proactive management. Partner with technology teams to automate catalog workflows and improve data quality.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with sourcing managers, procurement leaders, operations teams, finance, and technology partners across multiple pillars and regions. Prepare and present program updates, savings reports, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into catalog health, programs status, adoption metrics, and savings performance. Use data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
About the team Global Procurement Operations (GPO) is Amazon's worldwide procurement and facilities services organization, responsible for sourcing, managing, and delivering the operational services that keep Amazon's vast network running. GPO operates at massive scale spanning more than 15 countries across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America. GPO's mission touches every corner of Amazon's physical operations. The organization manages strategic procurement across categories including facility services, third-party logistics (3PL), supplier management, sustainability, and site launch — ensuring Amazon's fulfillment centers, sort centers, and delivery stations are properly equipped and supported. GPO is also responsible for driving procurement innovation through technology, with a dedicated technology pillar focused on building the tools and systems that make world-class procurement possible at Amazon's scale. The organization is structured around regional and functional centers of excellence, each led by a senior director-level leader.
GPO's corporate team includes approximately 1,400 procurement and supply chain professionals at levels working alongside a global network of on-site service partners embedded across Amazon's operational facilities. The team is highly global and distributed, with significant presence in the United States, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Japan, Spain, Brazil, the UAE, and beyond.
Joining GPO means working at the intersection of strategic sourcing, operational excellence, and global scale — partnering with operations, finance, legal, and sustainability teams to deliver impact across one of the world's largest and most complex supply chains.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
