Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.

This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Senior Production Supervisor will lead daily production activities to ensure compliance with established process controls and operating procedures. This role is responsible for supporting strong performance across safety, quality, delivery, production efficiency, throughput, and cost while providing leadership and direction to manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities, prioritize resources, and coordinate production schedules, product changeovers, training, maintenance activities, experiments, and new product runs.

• Provide daily direction to production and maintenance employees, team leaders, technicians, and engineers while ensuring compliance with established procedures and process controls.

• Monitor and communicate production and process performance, ensuring daily and weekly production and delivery requirements are met.

• Partner with plant and functional teams to drive process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives while supporting employee training, development, qualification, and performance management.

• Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.

• Frontline supervisory or team leadership experience in a plant manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated ability to hold individuals and teams accountable to process control and operating discipline.

• Experience leading teams and projects focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, or performance improvement.

• Experience and understanding of process management systems, process control, and process discipline.

• Training and experience in supervisory effectiveness, conflict resolution, and effective listening.

• Understanding of cost accounting, profitability management, and fundamentals of safety and health.
