About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager – Data Products to lead the strategy and execution of data assets that power analytics, ML/AI, and enterprise reporting across Universal Music Group. You’ll partner with engineering, governance, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data products and a governed data platform that enables experimentation and personalization. The role reports to the Sr. Director of Product Management (Data Platform).
What You'll Do

Own and execute the roadmap for data assets and curated data products, aligned with marketing, ecommerce, and AI enablement priorities.

Define, track, and report key data product metrics (adoption, data quality, latency, completeness, downstream usage).

Define and deliver reusable, scalable data assets for analytics, BI, ML, and operational use cases.

Partner with data engineering, governance, and analytics teams to define data models, transformation logic, and data quality standards.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data ingestion, transformation, and semantic layers.

Ensure data assets support experimentation, personalization, predictive analytics, and AI initiatives.

Support integrations with new data sources to enhance completeness and enrichment.

Remove impediments for engineering teams due to unclear requirements, misaligned priorities, or stakeholder ambiguity.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in data products, data platforms, or analytics ecosystems.

Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (data marts, semantic layers).

Experience partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to deliver scalable data solutions.

Familiarity with modern data stack technologies (cloud data warehouses, orchestration tools) and marketing automation platforms (CRMs, CDPs).

Strong SQL proficiency; ability to explore and validate data independently.

Experience defining and measuring data quality and governance standards.

Ability to translate complex data architecture concepts into clear business outcomes.

Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving alignment across diverse teams.

Previous experience as a management consultant is a plus.

Strong storyteller and systems thinker.

Knowledge of the music and label business is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $84,780 - $160,000 USD per year.
