Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the job as summarised below, but not limited to:
- Interaction with the client to understand and deliver to Client’s expectations.
- Performing lead engineer role on various projects.
- Lead or facilitate PFD and P&ID Reviews, HAZOP and SIL reviews
- Participate in 3D model and constructability reviews
- Perform manpower planning and project schedule management for the projects where a lead engineer role is held.
- Perform scoping exercising on site
- Development of design basis, process flow diagrams, mass & energy balances, utility balances
- Development of piping and instrument diagrams, mechanical flow diagrams, and utility flow diagrams
- Development of process equipment (including reboilers and distillation columns) / instrument data sheets, process philosophies, equipment/ line/ tie-in/ fluid/ utility consumption/ waste & emission
- Development process philosophies, operating, safety and commissioning manuals
Your profile
The successful candidate must be in possession of a BSc. Chemical Engineering degree with 8 years engineering experience in a contracting environment working on projects in the energy and chemical/ refining / petrochemical industries.
Professional Registration with ECSA is preferable.
Strong experience in feasibility, concept and basic engineering is essential.
Experience in brownfield project execution.
The successful candidate must understand the fundamentals of unit operation sizing and have an understanding of the relevant process safety systems as well as design procedures.
The successful candidate must be capable of producing Process Flow and Instrumentation Diagrams and have experience in Process Simulation Packages (Aspen or PROII), Heat Exchanger Ratings (HTRI), unit operation sizing and safety related system sizing.
The successful candidate must have successfully performed in the position of lead engineer in the basic and detail engineering phase. The candidate must ideally have participated in commissioning and plant start-up.
The successful candidate must display understanding of process control systems and be able to propose alternative efficient schemes.
The successful candidate must be able to work across a multitude of projects.
