Senior Principle Engineer - Growth Organization

The Growth Organization enables all Atlassian current and future users to easily discover, try, adopt and get value from Atlassian core products of Jira, Confluence, Loom and Teamwork Collection. The Growth Org combines product thinking, platforms and data analysis to drive experimentation across products resulting in greater engagement, use and long term value for customers.
As a P70 in the Growth Organization, you will help turn this vision into reality by shaping the platforms that support new & upgrading customer flows, identifying technical strategy and driving the Atlassian AI transformation making our products the agent-native system of record. Your success will seen and felt by customers and will be achieved through combining data, product/market understanding and innovation to help customers capture the full value of their teamwork.
Your Future Team
The Growth Monetization team optimizes the services and experiences for customers in Atlassian core products. The team directly contributes to Atlassian Revenue by creating and testing customer interactions from first contact with the product through to purchase.
Responsibilities

Own the technical evolution and long-term architecture of the Growth Monetization services, customer experiences and experimentation platforms

Collaborate across Product teams defining forward roadmaps for multiple teams driving customer success

Maintain high standards of Operational Excellence in Growth Monetization platforms and services for performance, reliability, observability and data safety and security.

Continually raise technical standards and success through hands-on leadership in reviews, investigations, incidents and critical Product problem solving, mentoring Principal and Senior Engineers

Lead technical experimentation strategies across multiple teams driving product and engineering approaches

Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
-
12+ years of experience developing large scale distributed systems.

4+ years of experience providing architectural oversight and technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Proven experience at department-level: shaping technical direction across teams and influencing architecture and product strategy beyond a single service.

Track record of leading major architectural initiatives and turning multi-year strategy into incremental delivery and measurable outcomes.

Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, data streaming platforms and event-driven architecture

Broad knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and hands-on experience with public clouds (ideally AWS and/or GCP).

Fluency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Golang, Python, Javascript, go etc.) and in architecture patterns for distributed systems.

Experience mentoring senior engineers, leading technical reviews, and improving engineering quality and productivity.

Quick learner who excels in ambiguous environments.
