About the Role Senior Principal Software/Firmware Engineer - Optical PHY acts as a conduit between architectural innovations and practical implementations within Marvell's Optics & Connectivity Product Architecture team. The role involves embedding into product design teams to translate architectural specifications into actual features and guiding prototypes into production code, while feeding insights back to keep innovation grounded.

What You'll Do

• Create highly-functional software prototypes based on high-level architectural specifications and merge your designs into product codebases without disrupting existing operations.
• Provide documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to hand off further enhancements and maintenance to the implementation team.
• Embed with diverse product design teams to translate architectural concepts into tangible features and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Iterate through strategic engagements, work on new features, and propagate best practices across multiple design teams.

What We're Looking For

• Postgraduate degree in EECS or related technical field(s).
• 10+ years of experience in embedded design within the wired/optical communications industry.
• Insight into Protocol/Software/Hardware/Human interactions.
• Technical leadership experience in Optical PHY products with exposure to Customer Support.
• Strong firmware engineering background, with working knowledge in digital design; OR vice-versa.
• Robust communication skills in listening and teaching.
