Job title: Senior Principal Layout Designer

About the Role The Senior Principal Layout Designer will lead the analog IC layout effort at Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center, collaborating with design engineers to layout and verify filters for wireless products using Cadence and Calibre. This role emphasizes hands-on layout proficiency, mentoring, and cross-site collaboration to deliver high-performance analog solutions.

What You'll Do

• Work closely with design engineers in the layout and verification of filters for wireless consumer electronic products using the Cadence Design environment and Calibre verification tools
• Interface with domestic and international design teams across multiple design centers in different time zones
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to project schedules and delivery timelines

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits including ability to place and route active and passive devices
• Ability to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design
• Good understanding of semiconductor processes and structures, like CMOS FETs, capacitors, resistors
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and SkillCAD tools
• Proven ability to interpret DRC, ERC, LVS, ANTENNA using Calibre verification tool and to read electrical schematics and netlists
• Top level integration experience is preferred
• Experience in the preparation of layout data for release to foundry is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: USD 114,400 - 220,200 per year
