Description
- We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior POS Administrator to join its POS team in Abuja.
- The successful candidate will provide supervisory oversight for the financial administration, auditing, monitoring, control, and analysis of expenses incurred across the Company's POS operations in Nigeria and Ghana.
- The role will focus on strengthening financial controls, identifying financial risks and leakages, improving expense management, supporting audit and compliance activities, and providing accurate expense analysis to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective audit trails for POS-related financial transactions.
- Review POS expenditure transactions to ensure proper authorization, accurate classification, and compliance with approved limits and company policies.
- Conduct periodic reviews of POS expenses to identify errors, duplicate payments, unsupported expenses, unusual transactions and potential financial leakages.
- Review expense documentation and ensure identified deficiencies are promptly resolved.
- Monitor compliance with approved expense limits and authorization matrices.
- Supervise cash box and petty cash administration across POS locations.
- Review cash disbursements, replenishment requests, balances and utilization to ensure proper control.
- Monitor outstanding cash advances and ensure timely retirement.
- Supervise the administration and monitoring of POS-related travel expenses and trip IOUs for Nigeria and Ghana.
- Review travel expense claims for completeness, accuracy, authorization and compliance with company policies.
- Analyze travel expenditure by employee, location, activity and period to identify cost trends and potential savings.
- Establish and monitor consistent expense-control standards across POS operations in Nigeria and Ghana.
- Consolidate POS expense information from Nigeria and Ghana for management reporting.
- Liaise with relevant personnel in Ghana to resolve discrepancies, outstanding documentation and control issues.
- Track audit observations relating to POS expenditure and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews of POS expense processes.
- Identify and report control breaches, suspected irregularities or potentially fraudulent transactions through appropriate management channels.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen financial controls and reduce operational and financial risks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
- 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial control, audit, expense management or financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial control processes.
- Proven experience in expense review, reconciliation, audit or financial analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Good account reconciliation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple responsibilities.
