What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
-
Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
-
Proven experience (10-15 years) in portfolio planning / economic valuation or a similar analytical role within the energy sector.

In-depth knowledge of ERCOT and/or PJM markets, including electricity pricing, market fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, and policy dynamics.

Knowledge of power assets operations (CCGT, Renewables….)

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Project management skills are a plus.

Proficiency in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and data modelling. Master of Excel. Experience with statistical software (such as Python, R, or MATLAB) and Modelling softwares (such as BID3, Plexos or PSO) is a plus.

Demonstrated industry awareness and a track record in the power market domain.

Knowledge of energy industry trends and renewable energy & CCGT technologies is highly desirable.

Candidate Profile
-
The Senior Manager, Portfolio Planning connects the dots within the organization and the external information available to be able to propose valuation of assets, long-term portfolio and contracts. Once validated, those portfolio targets will be used as one of the main inputs for investment process of the Company, from Business Development orientation to investment decisions.
Activities:
-
Lead the development of methodology Structuring: to propose the best target energy mix portfolio for 2030 and 2035 with the relevant ratio of assets for each technology, locations and contracted/hedged/merchant capacities. The development of methodology is supported by the HQ Power Strategy team.

Own the development, governance and continuous improvement of capacity planning models. Set the quality standards for accurate models and algorithms to simulate the value of assets and contracts, starting from the Models managed by Pricing and Risk Management team. Connect efficiently with other models in the Company such as the Nodal Market Models or the Economic Evaluation Model for Investments.

Support investment decision: assist BD team in the preparation of investment proposals by delivering valuation of energy margins, including presentations to approval committees.

Lead cross-functional collaboration across US and Headquarters teams, including Pricing and Risk Management team, fundamental market analysis, energy management and M&A, to give quantitative views on revenue streams and exposures. Effectively communicate with senior management and other stakeholders to get insights.

Industry Awareness: partner with the Regulatory team to jointly assess and anticipate developments in FERC, ISO/RTO, state-level policies and wholesale market trends (e.g., capacity auctions, ancillary services) that impact long-term asset and portfolio value and deal structuring. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the power sector.
