About the Role Two entry-level Senior Personnel Officer roles based in Pretoria. The roles focus on recruitment, PMDS administration, and service benefits within the Department of Basic Education. The positions offer exposure to HR processes in a government environment. What You'll Do
- For Recruitment & PMDS: place advertisements for vacant posts; sort and capture applications; arrange interviews; take minutes; write submissions and memos; compile unsuccessful letters; verify qualifications and criminal records; assist with Performance Management Development System (PMDS); file Performance Agreements and mid-year/annual assessments in PERSAL.
- For Service Benefits & Administration: manage personnel administration (appointments, transfers/promotions, probations, leave, leave gratuities, terminations, pensions, staff establishment, housing, MMS and SMS salary structuring, long service awards); capture transactions on PERSAL; write submissions, letters, memos and circulars; process pension documents and Injury on Duty (IOD) matters; respond to internal and external HR enquiries on procedures and policies. What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Knowledge of relevant policies and legislation (PMDS experience for the first role; PERSAL knowledge for the second).
- Good organisational skills and communication skills (verbal and written), computer literacy and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to deal with confidential matters, work under pressure and work independently as well as part of a team. Compensation & Benefits
