About the Role Join EY as a Senior Payroll Consultant to lead payroll services for clients, advise on payroll matters, and help design and implement new procedures. This client-facing role focuses on delivering accurate, compliant payroll in a hybrid Sydney-based environment, with flexibility on reduced hours. What You'll Do
- Payroll Leadership & Compliance: Lead payroll validation and reconciliation, ensure data accuracy, stay updated with legislation, and deliver induction and ad hoc training updates.
- Process Standardisation & Improvement: Establish consistent payroll procedures across diverse employee groups, drive continuous improvement, identify gaps, implement new processes, and communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.
- Reporting, Collaboration & Strategic Impact: Collaborate with offshore teams for seamless service delivery, generate and analyse payroll reports (audits, STP2), track KPIs like accuracy and compliance, and contribute to scalable payroll solutions across multiple projects and clients with flexibility for global meetings outside standard hours. What We're Looking For
- Payroll Expertise & Technical Skills: Extensive experience in high-volume, full-function payroll operations, strong proficiency in SAP and other payroll software, large-scale ERP systems, and intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
- Leadership & Implementation Experience: Demonstrated leadership in payroll teams and successful involvement in payroll implementation projects, supported by sound numeracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Qualifications & Versatility: While formal payroll certification is advantageous but not required, the candidate offers a broad and adaptable skill set across varied systems and processes, ensuring readiness for complex payroll environments. Nice to Have
