About the Role You will serve as Senior Officer on the bridge with safety responsibilities, including trainings, drills, inspections of safety equipment, and coordination of safety and emergency training for the crew. You will be a point of contact for safety incidents on board and support the bridge team during maneuvers. On some ships you may take over a half bridge watch (4 hours). What You'll Do
- Responsibility for safety-related trainings and drills of the crew
- Responsibility for inspection and documentation of safety-relevant equipment on board (LSA and Firefighting Equipment)
- Coordination of safety- and emergency training of the crew
- Examiner and contact person for safety-related incidents and accidents on board
- Support of the bridge team as Senior Officer, e.g., during Yellow-Manning-Passagen as well as during berthing/unberthing maneuvers
- On selected ships (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises): taking over half of the bridge watch (4 hours) What We're Looking For
- Valid Captain's license and current STCW certificates
- Proven experience as Safety Officer onboard a cruise ship
- In-depth knowledge of the Safety & Quality Management System (SQMS)
- Basic knowledge in Bridge Resource Management and safe operation of common bridge equipment
- Very good English skills (speaking and writing); German at good to native level
- Open, communicative personality with strong team orientation
