Job Description
- Casual, short-term appointment at HEW Level 8, up to 35 hours per week.
- Campbelltown campus with work at Campbelltown Hospital as required.
- Casual hourly rate: $82.72 to $91.82, plus Superannuation. Lead Faculty planning and operations for a new shared research building.
The Opportunity
You will lead the Faculty of Health’s involvement in establishing and operationalising a new research building shared across research partners. As the Faculty’s key liaison, you will coordinate its requirements and contributions through planning, commissioning, transition and ongoing operations.
You will develop operational plans, processes and service arrangements covering access, onboarding, space, shared equipment and facility use. Working with researchers, partner organisations, University service areas, project teams and facility operators, you will maintain clear communication and progress agreed actions across organisational boundaries.
You will support established governance committees by preparing advice, briefings, reports, recommendations and risk information. You will also coordinate the transition to business-as-usual operations, resolve complex operational issues and monitor readiness, performance and emerging requirements to support safe, effective and sustainable research activity.
The successful candidate will work from the Lang Walker Medical Research Building (Campbelltown Hospital) and Campbelltown campus, as required. This is a two-month appointment.
What Success Looks Like:
- Faculty requirements are clearly identified and progressed through building planning, commissioning and operational readiness.
- Practical arrangements are established for access, onboarding, shared equipment, space coordination and facility use.
- Governance decisions are translated into coordinated Faculty actions, supported by timely advice, reporting and risk information.
- People, systems, services, documentation and responsibilities are integrated for an effective transition to ongoing operations.
- Operational risks and stakeholder issues are resolved through evidence-based recommendations and appropriate escalation. Please refer to the Position Description for full details.
About You
- A relevant tertiary qualification, with postgraduate study and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Extensive experience coordinating research infrastructure, facilities, major projects, research operations or shared services involving multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational plans, processes and service arrangements within a complex organisation.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and liaison skills across partner organisations, disciplines and professional groups.
- Strong analytical judgement, communication skills and knowledge of safety, risk, compliance and quality requirements in complex research, health or facility settings.
