Job title: Senior Network Engineer (L3)
About the Role The Senior Network Engineer (L3) is a hands-on technical lead responsible for creating SOPs, process flows and root-cause analyses, troubleshooting complex issues beyond L1/L2, coordinating with vendors for bug fixes, and driving P1/P2 bridge calls to resolution. You will monitor SLAs, ensure production is back quickly, and identify gaps in the infrastructure to provide improvement recommendations.
What You'll Do
- Create and maintain documentation (SOPs, process flows, root-cause analyses) for network operations.
- Troubleshoot complex issues that exceed L1/L2 scope and provide resolution or workaround.
- Coordinate with vendors for bug fixes in codes and recommend software/hardware upgrades.
- Drive P1/P2 bridge calls and lead the incident to resolution while ensuring SLA adherence.
- Monitor ticket SLA and ensure production environments are restored promptly.
- Identify gaps and challenges in infrastructure environments and provide actionable recommendations.
- Architect, design, and implement Data Center and LAN/WAN solutions for large corporate environments per architectural standards.
- Manage network services (DC, DNS/DHCP, VPN/Client Connectivity) and DC/site network maintenance.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco and other OEM devices; perform WAN/Wireless/site network maintenance and Datacenter support.
- Perform system upgrades (service packs, patches, hot fixes, security configurations) and monitor performance/reliability.
- Monitor resource utilization, conduct capacity planning, and drive optimization.
- Provide Level-L4/L3 support and troubleshooting within SLA.
- Adhere to configuration and change management policies; liaise with vendors/IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Maintain documentation through tools like Visio and other network documentation platforms.
- Stay aligned with network operations strategy and drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE with lab are required.
- Primary skills in Networking, Routing & Switching; strong knowledge of convergence technologies and QoS on LAN/WAN.
- Secondary skills in Load balancers (Netscaler) and Wireless (Aruba).
- Extensive experience with Nexus 7k/9k, Cisco 6500s, ASR/ISR, WAAS, and ACS.
- Proficiency with Catalyst switches, Aruba wireless controllers/APs, Arista/HP/Extreme switches, Riverbed, and NetScaler.
- Strong experience with network monitoring/diagnostics (SolarWinds, NetFlow) and packet capture interpretation.
- Proficient with ticketing tools (ServiceNow) and network documentation tools (Visio).
- Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, STP, VRRP; Data Center and LAN/WAN architecture for large environments.
- Experience with DC/DCNS/DNS-DHCP, VPN/Client Connectivity, DMVPN, WAN/Wireless/Site Networks, and related maintenance.
- Ability to provide L4/L3 support and implement changes per CM policies; strong vendor liaison skills.
- Proficiency with Cisco SD-WAN technologies and management platforms; advanced monitoring, performance tuning, and incident management using Cisco tools (Prime, DNA Center, Meraki Dashboard).
- Strong network security knowledge and wireless standards; leadership in mentoring and driving network operations strategy.
- Ability to analyze complex network environments and implement innovative solutions; strong documentation of network infrastructure and processes.
Nice to Have
- Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise SD-WAN Implementation (optional but valuable).
- CCIE – Enterprise Infrastructure (optional but valuable).
