  • Serve as the primary technical owner of Hamilton's global enterprise network and Fortinet security platforms, including FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiClient VPN and EMS, FortiAnalyzer, and Security Fabric
  • Ensure the availability, performance, security, and resilience of network services across data centres, offices, cloud, and remote-access platforms, monitored through LogicMonitor, FortiAnalyzer, SNMPv3, syslog, and NetFlow

  • Lead firewall policy governance, rule reviews, security-zone design, and segmentation initiatives, and maintain site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, certificates, authentication, and logging
  • Investigate complex VPN, routing, IPS, HA failover, and firmware issues, including vendor escalation, and partner with Information Security on vulnerabilities, penetration-test findings, and audit observations

Cloud, Automation & Storage Networking

  • Design and support Azure and hybrid-cloud networking, including virtual FortiGate, route tables, network security groups, and VPN connectivity, in collaboration with Cloud Engineering
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible, APIs, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for configuration management, backups, monitoring, and compliance validation
  • Drive continuous improvement and engineering standards, support NetApp storage networking (SAN, iSCSI, Fibre Channel), and evaluate emerging technologies

Operational Resilience, Governance & Leadership

  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience initiatives through design reviews, testing, failover exercises, and recovery validation
  • Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, IPAM data, and recovery procedures, ensuring changes comply with change, security, audit, and regulatory procedures, and provide technical evidence for audits and regulatory reviews
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex network issues, mentor engineers, and lead technical workstreams with minimal supervision, including after hours and maintenance windows

Requirements

  • What you require for the role

  • Progressive enterprise networking experience, including supporting enterprise firewall and network-security platforms

  • Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with ownership of business-critical network infrastructure and security services

  • Demonstrated experience independently owning and supporting an enterprise Fortinet environment, including operational health, technical standards, lifecycle management, security controls, incident resolution, vendor escalation, and documentation

  • Advanced hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiClient VPN and EMS, FortiAnalyzer, Fortinet Security Fabric, and high-availability technologies

  • Strong experience supporting Cisco Nexus routing and switching, with expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, static and policy-based routing, VLANs, QoS, NAT, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and segmentation

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, diagnostics, reporting, and SIEM integration

  • Experience participating in disaster recovery exercises, resilience testing, recovery validation, and business continuity initiatives

  • Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and service-management practices

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP), Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS), or equivalent Fortinet certification

  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, or equivalent certification

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or equivalent Azure networking certification

  • Experience working within financial services, insurance, or another regulated enterprise environment is a plus

  • Experience supporting global, multi-region infrastructure environments

  • Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills, including packet-flow analysis, log review, root-cause analysis, and permanent corrective action

  • Strong understanding of network-security principles and defence-in-depth architectures

  • Strong documentation, communication, vendor-management, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business-focused recommendations
