About the Role Zipline operates the world’s largest autonomous logistics system (drone delivery). Our Autonomy Motion Planning team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about developing practical solutions to real-world challenges and enabling rapid, safe drone operations. What You'll Do
- Generate trajectories for drone missions and validate mission concepts
- Optimize missions and planning pipelines to support scalable autonomous deliveries
- Validate safety through simulation (SIL/HIL) and metrics-driven validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy robust autonomous systems What We're Looking For
- Master's in CS or related field and 3+ years building safety-critical systems
- Strong proficiency in Rust/C++/C
- Experience with planning, trajectory optimization/MPC, simulation (SIL/HIL), and metrics-driven validation
- Familiarity with safety-critical software development processes Nice to Have
- Experience with autonomous drone systems, field deployments, or large-scale logistics operations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-growth environment
