About the Role

BioMarin is seeking a Senior Material Planner for a 12-month contract in Cork, Ireland. The role ensures availability of raw material components to meet production schedules across Drug Substance, Drug Product, and Finish Goods Packaging Operations by planning, purchasing, and releasing materials in SAP. The Material Planner will help develop and implement systems to optimise raw material coverage aligned with the Master Production Schedule and product launches.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in SAP to meet the Master Production Schedule
  • Convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders; manage supplier invoicing details in SAP
  • Monitor material release status and end-to-end inventory management (pricing records, PPV, expiry, FIFO/FEFO, safety stock, lead times)
  • Issue quarterly supplier forecasts and generate Heatmap/Material Readiness reports; participate in weekly material readiness activities
  • Ensure supplier open order book is aligned with SAP weekly; maintain Master Data accuracy in SAP for material components
  • Manage aging receipts, resolve issues, and identify root causes; participate in STEM program as required
  • Provide inputs to monthly site Supply Chain Review (SCR) and participate in Global Category Form and QBR; engage in CI projects
  • Drive continuous improvements (Six Sigma / Lean) and develop KPIs for supplier performance (OTIF)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Make/Assess/Release commitments) and support site-wide S&OE and Material Planner Standard Work
  • Support Change Control processes (CRs), CAPA, Deviation and SCN within the QMS
  • Support site strategy for Single Use applications and Operational Readiness Programs
  • Demonstrate integrity, customer focus, and drive to progress within BioMarin

What We're Looking For

  • Honours degree (NFQ Level 7) in Supply Chain Management or related Business discipline; Supply Chain Certification preferred (e.g., APICS)
  • SAP experience with MRP in a manufacturing/biotech environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
