Job title: Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer: Automation - DeltaV
About the Role Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer, Automation - DeltaV, provides automation technical leadership to a team supporting GMP Drug Substance Plant Operations. You will partner with the capital project team to deliver robust process automation for Amgen's new FleX Batch facility, leveraging Emerson DeltaV and multi-platform integration with Industry 4.0 capabilities and sustainability initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the process control system on Emerson DeltaV distributed control system (DCS).
- Work with process subject matter experts to translate key process requirements into digital automated solutions.
- Collaborate with business partners and the capital project team to deliver robust automation for the new plant, including cross-platform integration, lifecycle management, and Operational Excellence.
- Lead and mentor automation engineers within the Facilities & Engineering (F&E) Automation team.
- Support complex automation initiatives that require strong problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
What We're Looking For
- Strong automation engineering background with hands-on experience in DeltaV DCS or similar systems.
- Experience with multiple automation platforms and system integration.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and project management experience.
- Ability to collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional partners across manufacturing and capital projects.
- Understanding of lifecycle management and Operational Excellence initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Industry 4.0 capabilities in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and carbon-reduction in manufacturing.
