About the Role Eskom seeks a senior leader to provide strategic leadership and oversee research management and development, demonstration projects, and resource management within engineering and environmental domains. This role is designed to advance Eskom's research portfolio through strategic direction, stakeholder engagement, and HR leadership. What You'll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the research section.
- Lead the provision of technical and consulting support for Eskom's research portfolio.
- Provide a strategic framework for research development and demonstration.
- Manage and optimize the section infrastructure and resources.
- Provide human resources leadership.
- Perform stakeholder relationship management.
- Perform performance analysis for research.
- Drive the inclusion of global knowledge into research. What We're Looking For
- Qualification: BSc/BEng Degree in Engineering at NQF 8 with 480 credits, or Honours Degree in Science/ Technology Management/Chemistry/Environmental Science at NQF 8 with 480 credits.
- Experience: 10 Years’ technical management experience in research and/or industrial environment.
- Professional Registration: SACNASP or ECSA.

- Leadership: Team player, Motivating teams, Coaching, Mentoring, Developing.
- Knowledge: Research management processes, testing techniques and equipment; electrical generation systems and processes; electrical transmission, distribution systems and processes; environmental management processes; ability to understand and integrate a broad range of complex issues; HR and PR management processes; finance and procurement processes; supply contract management; environmental issues at technical/policy level; environmental legislation; testing and calibration standards and processes.
