About the Role
As the Senior Manager, Quality Control at Gilead, you will lead the Quality Control Chemistry or Microbiology laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality analytical support for manufacturing, maintenance, engineering and validation while upholding GMP, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will provide leadership to QC teams, drive process improvements, and ensure alignment with business objectives. What You'll Do

Manages QC personnel, including organizing and prioritizing daily tasks, training, and performance reviews.

Oversees day-to-day operation of laboratories.

Attends project-related team meetings and addresses items assigned by direct manager.

Writes and/or implements changes to controlled documents (e.g., SOPs, Software Specifications, Methods, etc.).

Follows technology changes, recommends new technologies, and purchases and implements if appropriate.

Leads and coordinates defined projects/initiatives and investigations—works on complex issues requiring in-depth assessment across multiple variables.

Exercises good judgment within defined practices to obtain analytical results.

Provides broad-based QC Chemistry or Microbiology expertise and counsel to the organization.

Provides leadership, management, training and career coaching for QC staff.

Provides data review, process trending, and procedural updates and provide technical support for qualification protocol writing.

Responsible for the management, guidance and training of QC Team Leaders, Chemists, Microbiologists and Technicians.

Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

Participates in regulatory audits as required.

Directs team activities, adhering to schedule, budget and resource requirements. What We're Looking For

BS with 8+ years of relevant industry experience; MS with 6+ years; PhD with 2+ years.

In-depth knowledge of quality control in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Deep knowledge of GMPs, pharmacopoeia, and regulatory requirements for testing and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills; ability to participate in highly effective teams; critical and creative thinking; ability to work independently; strong organizational and planning skills.

Proven leadership ability and problem-solving skills; strong analytical and computer skills.

Knowledge of current industry trends. Nice to Have

Prior people management experience is preferred.

Biopharmaceutical or Pharmaceutical experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $143,225.00 - $185,350.00 per year.

This role may be eligible for discretionary annual bonus and discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role).
