The Senior Manager leads multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Construction, Environmental, Real Estate, Operations, and external contractors to deliver predictable project outcomes through proactive planning, disciplined execution, sound financial management, and effective risk mitigation. This position establishes clear expectations, drives accountability, removes execution barriers, and fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety excellence. As a leader within Capital Projects, the Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring strong project governance throughout the Stage Gate Process, maintaining executive-level visibility into project performance, and providing clear, concise communications regarding cost, schedule, risks, opportunities, resource requirements, and strategic decisions. The role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by translating complex project information into actionable business recommendations that enable informed decision-making. This position also plays a critical leadership role in developing organizational capability by coaching and mentoring project managers, strengthening project management standards, promoting financial discipline, and building high-performing teams capable of delivering Entergy's growing capital investment portfolio with consistency, predictability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership for one or more large, complex transmission, substation, or capital infrastructure projects and programs, typically valued at $100 million or greater, ensuring successful delivery of safety, quality, schedule, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Build, develop, and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary project teams by establishing clear roles, expectations, accountability, and performance standards while coaching and mentoring Project Managers, Project Controls personnel, and other team members.
  • Lead project execution through Entergy's Stage Gate Process by ensuring all required deliverables, governance requirements, approvals, estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and business cases are complete, accurate, and decision-ready.
  • Demonstrate full financial ownership of assigned projects by managing budgets, working forecasts, estimates at completion (EAC), contingency, cash flow, change management, productivity, and financial performance while identifying opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and overall project value.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, mitigate, and communicate project risks and opportunities before they impact safety, schedule, cost, quality, or operational readiness. Escalate significant issues with recommended mitigation strategies and business solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Environmental, Real Estate, Regulatory, Operations, Project Controls, and external contractors to align priorities, remove execution barriers, and deliver predictable project outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary Owner's Representative or Contract Manager, providing commercial leadership throughout project execution, including contract administration, contractor performance management, change order negotiations, claims avoidance, dispute resolution, invoice approval, and contractual compliance.
  • Establish and maintain disciplined project controls by partnering with Project Controls to ensure effective cost management, schedule management, earned value reporting, risk management, document control, forecasting, and change control processes are consistently executed.
  • Provide executive-level project communications by preparing and delivering concise, accurate, and actionable presentations and status updates that clearly communicate project performance, financial health, critical path activities, emerging risks, key decisions, and recommended actions.
  • Maintain a strong field presence by routinely visiting project sites to reinforce safety expectations, verify quality of work, engage with project teams and contractors, remove obstacles to execution, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal customers, operating companies, contractors, consultants, regulators, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful project execution.
  • Make timely, sound business decisions while balancing safety, operational impacts, schedule, cost, quality, customer commitments, and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution through standardization, lessons learned, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organizational performance, consistency, and project delivery.
  • Develop future organizational capability by mentoring employees, strengthening project management processes, promoting leadership development, supporting succession planning, and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale capital projects (transmission, substation, or capital infrastructure), typically $100M+, on time and within budget, with demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience leading Stage Gate processes and governance, with ability to provide concise, executive-level communications.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgets, forecasts, EAC, contingency, cash flow, and change management.
  • Expertise in contract and vendor management, including change orders, claims avoidance, dispute resolution, and contractual compliance.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, Environmental, Real Estate, Regulatory, Operations, and external partners.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence, with ability to reinforce safety culture at field sites.
