Job title: Senior Manager, Product Development
About the Role The Senior Manager, Product Development leads the end-to-end development of the Activewear category, driving evolution for both Men’s and Women’s lines with a balance of high-performance functionality and trend-forward design. You will guide development teams, manage calendars, coordinate with factories, and collaborate across merchandising and marketing to ensure successful line launches.
What You'll Do
- Manage all new development and counter development of styles in the activewear category.
- Lead the execution of business strategy and plans for the activewear line ensuring quality products are developed and delivered.
- Build, manage, and maintain Development Time and Action Calendars for all developed products across factories and countries.
- Analyze price quotes and work with production to achieve target costs; understand fabric, trim, and yarn costs and their impact on final garment cost.
- Monitor daily status of fabrics, lab dips, samples, trims, washes, and technical design; ensure adherence to lead times.
- Approve fabrics/yarns for appearance, quality, weight, and hand-feel using standard guidelines.
- Approve proto samples for style details, trim, wash, artwork, and construction.
- Manage workflow from counter samples/initial sketches through final placement of styles.
- Oversee pre-production approvals of fits, strikes-offs, patterns, trims, and lab dips.
- Establish and manage tracking tools for all products in development through final production.
- Maintain daily communication with overseas offices and factories.
- Build, train, and manage the product development team as the business grows.
- Collaborate with buying and marketing to educate product knowledge, ensure successful line launches, and gather feedback for improvements.
- Travel to factories, shop comps, and trade shows as needed to execute brand strategies.
- Analyze business results and competitor trends; adjust future assortments to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory turns while preserving brand integrity.
- Develop and manage the product calendar for seasonal deliveries and special events.
- Organize and prioritize weekly workload for self and team.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 8+ years of Product Development experience, with a proven track record in technical activewear or performance apparel.
- Expertise in both Men’s and Women’s categories strongly preferred, specifically regarding functional fabrics and specialized construction.
- Basic understanding of Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills with consistent deadline achievement.
- Strong follow-up and negotiation skills.
- Team player and open to dialogue; effective in-person and email communication.
- Attention to detail; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- AFA or AA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- English required; additional language(s) an advantage.

- Experience traveling internationally for sourcing, vendor meetings, and trade shows.
