About the Role NationsBenefits is modernizing internal platforms to drive efficiency and reliability. As Senior Manager of Engineering, you will lead the platform team responsible for core platform services and back-end infrastructure powering our internal services, shaping scalable, secure systems using React.js, .NET Core, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure. What You'll Do
- Lead design, development, and optimization of core platform services with focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and platform components using .NET Core, MS SQL Server, and Azure, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Drive platform modernization by migrating legacy systems to cloud-native architectures and microservices; coordinate data migrations and integrations.
- Monitor and optimize performance; ensure high availability, low latency, fault tolerance; identify bottlenecks and scale services; implement real-time data processing and analytics.
- Design and implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure HIPAA/PCI-DSS compliance; secure communications and authentication.
- Implement DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, rapid deployment; optimize cloud resources for performance and cost.
- Lead a team of engineers; provide mentorship, career development; foster a collaborative, accountable, high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with product management, operations, and other engineering teams; align platform initiatives with business goals; communicate with senior leadership.
- Additional Responsibilities: make decisions about architecture, technology choices, and development processes; navigate ambiguity; drive alignment across global teams and cross-regional initiatives.
