Job title: Senior Manager, Identity & Access Management (IAM)

About the Role Databricks is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Identity & Access Management to lead enterprise-wide IAM strategy, architecture, and operations. You will own secure, scalable identity services supporting employees, customers, and platform services at global scale, partnering across engineering, security, IT, compliance, and product teams.

What You'll Do

  • Define the long-term IAM strategy, roadmap, and operating model across the enterprise and product ecosystem.
  • Build scalable identity foundations to support global growth, cloud expansion, and evolving business needs.
  • Establish best practices for identity lifecycle management, authentication, provisioning, governance, and access reviews.
  • Build and lead IAM engineering and operations teams; mentor technical leads and engineers; foster a high-performance culture.
  • Design and implement IAM capabilities including SSO, MFA, and federated identity; RBAC/ABAC; PAM; identity stores; just-in-time access; least-privilege models.
  • Drive modernization of legacy systems and adoption of Zero Trust identity principles; ensure scalability, availability, and strong security controls.
  • Own identity governance programs, including access reviews, onboarding/offboarding controls, policy enforcement; partner with compliance, risk, legal for regulatory requirements (SOC2, ISO, FedRAMP, SOX, GDPR).
  • Collaborate with IT, Product Security, Cloud Infra, and Engineering to embed identity best practices; ensure customer-facing identity capabilities are secure and scalable.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and serve as trusted advisor on identity issues.

What We're Looking For

  • 8–12+ years of experience in security, identity engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Deep technical expertise in modern IAM technologies, directories, authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth), and identity standards.
  • Hands-on architecture or engineering experience in cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust identity models and privileged access management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of identity governance, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
  • Proven track record leading high-performing teams and delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Local Pay Range: $217,000—$264,600 USD.
  • The total compensation package may include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits listed above.
