- Job Type Full Time
- Qualification BA/BSc/HND
- Experience
- Location Nairobi
- Job Field Marketing and Communication
Job Objective
- The Senior Manager will drive subscriber growth, revenue, engagement and retention across African markets through a combination of data-driven marketing, content, telco/distribution partnerships and regional team leadership.
- The ideal candidate will come from digital subscription, streaming, media, fintech, mobile or technology businesses, with proven experience growing a subscriber/user base using data, content and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Own subscriber growth and revenue targets across African markets, including acquisition, conversion, ARPU, engagement, retention and churn.
- Use GA4, revenue dashboards and customer data to identify trends, opportunities and performance gaps and turn insights into commercial actions.
- Develop content and audience strategies that drive customer acquisition, conversion and retention, not visibility alone.
- Manage strategic telco and digital distribution partnerships, including performance reviews, negotiations, renewals and new opportunities with operators such as MTN, Safaricom and Vodacom.
- Work with Product, Finance, Marketing and Content teams to improve pricing, customer journeys and commercial performance.
- Lead a small distributed regional team, setting clear KPIs, targets and accountability.
- Monitor market, customer and competitor trends to identify new growth opportunities.
- Present data-driven commercial recommendations to the CEO and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sales, Economics, Analytics or a related field.
- Proven experience in digital subscription, streaming, media, fintech, mobile, technology or consumer digital businesses.
- Demonstrated success in subscriber/customer/user growth and revenue generation.
- Experience managing telco, digital distribution, billing or technology partnerships in African markets.
- Strong hands-on experience with GA4, revenue dashboards and customer/marketing analytics.
- Strong understanding of ARPU, churn, conversion, acquisition, engagement and retention.
- Strong content marketing and audience development capability.
- Proven experience leading regional or distributed teams.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Non-Negotiable
- Strong data and metrics fluency is essential. The candidate must be able to independently analyse subscriber, revenue, content and marketing data and translate insights into clear commercial actions.
Ideal Candidate
- We are looking for a digital growth/marketing leader, not a pure Business Development or Partnerships professional.
- The ideal candidate combines:
- Subscriber & Revenue Growth + Data & Analytics + Content & Audience Growth + Partnerships + Team Leadership.
- Partnerships experience alone, without strong evidence of data-driven marketing and subscriber/user growth, will not be sufficient.
