Job title: Senior Manager, Event Fundraising
About the Role Lead strategy, planning, execution and achievement of a $400k+ annual fundraising event portfolio for the American Cancer Society, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and high-impact donor engagement.
What You'll Do
- Build, sustain, and elevate relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners to meet revenue goals and foster long-term engagement.
- Ensure a best-in-class event experience through planning, logistics, brand positioning, budgets, and vendor management.
- Create tailored partner and donor experiences and align event partners with broader Society cultivation efforts to grow revenue through events and beyond.
- Monitor fundraising progress and expenses against budgets and benchmarks; adjust strategies to exceed financial goals and optimize ROI.
- Convene and coordinate marketing, coordinator support, and other contributors to event success.
- Champion community presence and brand elevation to deepen public interest and engagement.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; 2 years successful experience in fundraising and relationship development.
- Experience driving revenue through sales – prospecting, identification, cultivation, solicitation, evaluation, stewardship.
- Skilled at leading high-functioning collaborative event teams with internal and external stakeholders to execute event deliverables.
- Creates a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, project and timeline management and planning.
- Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, with extensive experience in effectively addressing and resolving issues.
- Proactively monitors data and adjusts activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals.
- Able to work through others to accomplish goals; builds support for ideas among key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Strong market, community and constituent knowledge & experience.
- Effectively builds formal and informal networks, both inside and outside the organization, to remove barriers and achieve outcomes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $72,000 to $75,000 per year.
