Job title: Senior Manager, Data Science - Forecasting
About the Role Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead the Forecasting team within the AI & Data Science organization. This role will set the data science strategy, build and lead a high-performing team, and partner with product, program, operations, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to deliver enterprise forecasting, uncertainty-aware decision support, scenario planning, and AI-enabled decision automation capabilities across Amgen.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of data scientists, AI/ML scientists, and analytics professionals, establishing clear priorities, roadmaps, and performance metrics.
- Set data science strategy for forecasting and apply modern AI/ML methods to deliver enterprise forecasting, uncertainty-aware decision support, and scenario planning.
- Partner with product, program, operations, commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders to identify high-impact forecasting opportunities and translate them into actionable programs.
- Guide rapid prototype-to-production delivery, ensuring solutions are adopted, governed, and continuously improved based on real-world performance and business value.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and governance to deploy AI-native forecasting capabilities that inform decisions across Amgen.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading data science or AI teams, including building and managing talent and delivering production-grade AI/ML solutions with measurable business impact.
- Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, cross-functional environments and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and product-minded execution skills.
- Experience with forecasting, simulation, decision-support, scenario planning, and uncertainty quantification.
- Track record of translating complex analytical work into actionable business value and measurable outcomes.
