Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, Category Management – Finance, you will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities supporting Western Union's Finance organization. This role focuses on financial services, banking relationships, payment networks, treasury services, funds-in and funds-out operations, financial technology solutions, and other enterprise service-based spend categories. You will partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Payments, Accounting, Technology, and business leaders to identify sourcing opportunities, optimize third-party spend, and deliver measurable business value across a global supplier portfolio.
- You will develop and execute sourcing strategies that support enterprise objectives, financial performance, operational efficiency, and business growth.
- You will partner with Finance, Treasury, Payments, and Accounting leaders to understand business priorities and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes and supplier value.
- You will lead strategic sourcing initiatives across banking services, payment providers, funds-in and funds-out operations, financial technology platforms, consulting services, and other enterprise service-based spend categories.
- You will manage complex supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial agreements to achieve cost savings, risk mitigation, and improved service performance.
- You will evaluate supplier pricing structures, transaction fee models, and commercial arrangements to identify opportunities for optimization and cost efficiency.
- You will analyze spend data, supplier performance metrics, and market trends to develop recommendations that support informed business decisions.
- You will establish and maintain supplier governance processes that drive accountability, performance management, and alignment with business objectives.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support new business initiatives, technology implementations, operational changes, and enterprise transformation efforts.
- You will assess sourcing opportunities across large-scale third-party spend categories and develop business cases that support strategic investment decisions.
- You will ensure sourcing activities align with company policies, risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- You will influence senior stakeholders and suppliers to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational effectiveness and support Western Union's evolving payments ecosystem.
Role Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, finance, treasury, payments, or supplier management roles.
- 5+ years of experience leading enterprise sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier management activities.
- Experience supporting financial services, banking, payments, fintech, treasury services, consulting, technology, or other enterprise services categories.
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements with global suppliers or service providers.
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise spend portfolios and delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, or value creation outcomes.
- Experience working in a global, highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience supporting funds-in, funds-out, payments, banking operations, treasury services, card programs, or financial technology platforms.
- Experience managing strategic supplier relationships within the financial services, payments, banking, or fintech industries.
- Experience developing sourcing strategies for enterprise technology, consulting services, contingent labor, or other indirect spend categories.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Category Management Certification, or Certified Professional Strategic Advisor (CPSA).
- Experience leveraging spend analytics, market intelligence, automation, or AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing outcomes and business decision-making.

Salary
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $155,000 USD per year. Total on-target compensation includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
