Job title: Senior Manager, Business Systems & Operations Management
About the Role The Senior Manager, Business Systems & Operations Management is responsible for managing the operational, administrative, and tactical support of assigned business systems; as well as contributing to projects and initiatives that optimize the use of information technology to achieve departmental, divisional, and enterprise business objectives. The role may function as a manager of one or more systems, as a leader of sub-teams or workstreams within larger projects, and as a senior business analyst when required. This position collaborates with business leadership, process owners, business analysts, R&D Excellence team members, and IT leads, and may oversee internal or contracted staff. It works under the direction of the Global Business System Owner within the R&D Excellence Systems Management group and can be filled at European affiliates, with a preference for placement in Germany.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the administrative and operational support of assigned systems, including user access, user experience, documentation, training, and issue resolution.
- Monitor, assess, and improve processes; evaluate changes to address evolving user requirements and leadership imperatives.
- Maintain high data quality and define improvements to address gaps or sustainability concerns.
- Manage user access, ticket resolution/escalation, and periodic voice-of-the-customer exercises to identify enhancements.
- Define and monitor KPIs and metrics for risk, performance, utilization, stability, and data quality; conduct periodic reviews with corrective actions as needed.
- Lead all business-led project deliverables: requirements, testing, training, acceptance, and business support; ensure formal business case, charter, and plan for each project.
- Ensure GxP R&D system documentation supports utilization and inspection readiness; identify and mitigate risks and issues; manage resources and budgets for on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and governance bodies; lead or contribute to working groups and ad hoc initiatives.
- As a Business Systems Analyst, develop problem/opportunity statements, business cases, and project charters; deliver process engineering, requirements, testing, and training.
- Build strong relationships with subject matter experts, IT colleagues, business leads, and external resources; contribute to system roadmaps across assigned systems.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Life Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline; or equivalent work experience. Master's Degree in Life Sciences preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in life sciences delivering GXP-validated global business systems with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in or supporting Research & Development processes, roles and systems.
