About the Role

The Senior Management Analyst supports the Sheriff’s Office by administering contracts and grants, developing grant revenue, and analyzing programs and processes. This exempt, non-represented role reports to the Administrative Services Manager and works within Sheriff’s Administration to ensure financial, information system, and management controls.

What You'll Do

  • Administer the department's contracts and grants, seek additional revenue through grant development and administration.
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative information to perform reviews, analyses, and prepare/present reports to program managers, agency leadership, and others.
  • Manage grant reporting to state and federal agencies; assist in development of Requests for Proposals; assist in reviewing financial controls, information system controls, and management controls.
  • Collaborate as a team member of Sheriff’s Administration and report to the Administrative Services Manager in charge of financial and budgeting.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in economics, business/public administration or accounting, plus substantial relevant professional experience.
  • Technical training in contract administration, grant administration, quantitative analysis, and internal audit training is an advantage.
  • Experience in government financial management, financial planning, or internal audit organizations; prior experience with national or regional public accounting or financial services firm.
  • Experience managing complex projects; extensive proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, flow charting, and presentation software.
  • Knowledge of grant administration, public sector operations, research methods, performance measures, monitoring compliance, financial systems, administrative analysis; MS Office/PC applications.
  • Ability to interpret complex state and federal regulatory requirements; analyze and solve contract or grant issues; write concise reports; communicate effectively; develop outcome measures and evaluation tools; build professional relationships.
  • Any combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a government financial management, financial planning, or internal audit organization.
  • Experience with national or regional public accounting or financial services firm.
