About the Role Senior Linux systems administrator with 12-14 years of experience in a RHEL environment. The role focuses on design, deployment, and support of enterprise Linux infrastructure with emphasis on boot process, automation, clustering, security, and storage integration. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security across production systems and coordinate with multiple teams and OEMs for hardware/O/S issues.

What You'll Do

• Perform Unix/Linux administration with hands-on experience in Veritas Clusters and related clustering technologies
• Manage patching and up-gradation using RPM, YUM, RHN, and Red Hat Satellite; maintain Satellite Servers
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures; perform disaster recovery drills
• Configure and manage storage on Linux (LVM, RAID, iSCSI, NAS/SAN), multi-path software, HBA config
• Handle user/group management, AD/LDAP integration, policies, permissions, and ACLs
• Administer network configurations including routing, NIC bonding, and bridging
• Script critical activities; develop automation using Shell, Ansible, Python, and Perl
• Monitor system resources, interpret logs, and perform problem determination and RCA
• Ensure system hardening, security baselines, VAPT, and performance tuning
• Coordinate with OEMs for hardware and OS issues; ensure smooth OEM interactions
• Work with virtualization technologies (VMware/ESXi, KVM, OVM/OVS) and OpenSource virtualization as applicable
• Manage ITIL processes including incident management, major incident handling, and customer escalations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
• Prepare and review DR/restore drills, failover drills, and recovery procedures
• Maintain knowledge of new technologies (LDAP, OpenSource virtualization, Webmin) and participate in continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 12-14 years of experience in a RHEL Linux environment
• Deep knowledge of boot process management and troubleshooting; strong scripting abilities
• Proficiency with LVM, VxVM, file systems, RAID, and related tooling (fdisk, parted, tune2fs, e2fsck)
• Experience with system/package/patch management (RPM, YUM, RHN, Satellite); Satellite administration
• Strong experience with Veritas Clusters and Linux OS clusters
• Network and storage expertise including NIC bonding, bridging, HBA configuration, multipath, NAS/SAN/iSCSI
• Linux security expertise (TCP wrappers, iptables, SELinux)
• Open-source virtualization and LDAP services knowledge; Webmin, ILO/DRAC, cPanel are a plus
• Scripting and automation skills; Ansible experience is a strong plus; Python/Perl is desirable
• Disaster recovery, DR drills, RCA, ITIL process familiarity; incident and escalation management
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; customer handling experience
• Prior exposure to Veritas Clusters and Red Hat Satellite environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in Open Source virtualization, LDAP services
• Ansible playbook creation, roles, and managing Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
• Red Hat Satellite environment expertise
