Level Designer

Description

  • We’re looking for a Senior Level Designer to build and fill the large open world of our next factory game in Unreal Engine 5.
  • The world needs to be rewarding to explore and give players great places to build. Over the course of the game, the world also changes visibly in response to what the player does.
  • You’ll be the first level designer on a new game team. No factory game experience required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the entire level design for the whole game
  • Create exploration spaces, points of interest and environmental storytelling
  • Shape where and how players build their factories
  • Work with design, art and engineering on tools, workflows and performance
  • Playtest and iterate

REQUIREMENTS

  • Shipped level or world design on an open-world or large-environment game

  • Strong Unreal Engine 5 editor skills

  • A portfolio that shows your process from blockout to final

  • Clear communication and documentation

  • Experience with PCG, World Partition or Blueprints

  • A good understanding of artistic fundamentals for set dressing

  • NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with survival, exploration or simulation games

  • An interest in factory games

  • WHAT THEY OFFER

  • Full-time (40h/week), fully remote.

  • Very flexible working hours.

  • Real influence on a game from its early stages.

  • Paid overtime (though we do our best to avoid it in the first place).

  • Book & training budget (100€/month, more if needed).

  • Focus days for learning new skills or researching.

  • Yearly on-site team events.

  • Automatic baseline salary adjustment of 2% per year.

  • Hardware & home office budget (2.000€ when joining, then 1.000€ yearly).

  • ABOUT THE COMPANY: A small indie studio focused on creating thoughtful, deeply satisfying factory and automation games that players truly love.

  • The team started with web games, found success on PC, and has since grown into a distributed team delivering highly rated simulation experiences. The studio values:

  • Direct communication and ownership over unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • Player-first design shaped by close collaboration with the community.

  • Long-term partnerships with people who want to grow alongside their projects.

  • Team size: ~14 people, growing

  • Work mode: Fully remote

  • Engine: UE5

  • Platform: PC
