About the Role Join Chemours' Advanced Performance Materials team as a Senior Laboratory Technician in Newark, DE to operate battery laboratory equipment and process materials for electrochemical devices. This role reports to the Global Technology Manager, Teflon PTFE, and supports lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments to advance battery technology.
What You'll Do
- Lab and pilot scale operation of handling, weighing, mixing, and processing of various chemicals.
- Assembling, monitoring & basic analysis of electrochemical devices such as lithium ion battery cells.
- Safe execution of lab work of wet chemistry experiments using corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
- Documenting and auditing specific operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Troubleshooting mechanical processes, controls, analytical, or laboratory issues.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 - 2 years of laboratory experience preferably in chemistry
- Fine motor skills to perform small, delicate & detailed tasks
- Excellent record keeping and notebook skills
- Ability to read and understand complex Standard Operating Procedures
- Self-motivation, able to work independently to complete given tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications with a focus on data entry, such as Word, Excel, SharePoint
- Ability to wear an air-line respirator, work in close quarters, and climb ladders/steps donned in full PPE
- Ability to lift 45 lbs. and move drums/containers using correct ergonomic methods
- Ability to perform duties that may require long periods of standing
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with using glove box, electrochemical devices
- Associates degree or higher in electrochemistry or chemistry, or 3+ years related industrial experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $29.40 - $45.94 per hour
