National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL)
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
- Drafting and implementing standard operating procedures;
- Preparing laboratory reagents, solutions, specimens and sample for analysis for routine analysis;
- Generating test reports;
- Participating in Environmental, Health and Safety activities (EHS);
- Stock taking (Including chemicals) and inventory management;
- Performing laboratory PT /ILC tests as guided by the protocols;
- Cleaning of specialized equipment;
- Decontaminating and sterilizing glassware for biological analysis.
- Validating of cleaning processes including glassware, equipment and biological analysis surfaces.
Person Specifications:
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Cumulative relevant service period of six (6) years, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Laboratory Analyst I or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership to a professional body and Registration Certificate where applicable; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
