About this role

Project description

Join a team building enterprise-scale headend applications for a leading video content provider. These backend cloud-based systems power critical media workflows and require high scalability, availability, and fault tolerance. You will design and implement microservices and AWS-based solutions within a Kubernetes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate backend microservices in Java and Golang.

  • Build APIs and Kafka event-driven workflows for large distributed systems.

  • Modernize and migrate services, for example Java to Go, Couchbase to DynamoDB, and the Redis to Valkey move.

  • Own production support, monitoring, alerting and KTLO work.

  • Work with Agile cross-functional teams on PI/sprint delivery.

  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and automation.

Skills

  • Must have

  • Strong backend experience in both Java and Go.

  • Microservices, REST API design and event-driven architecture.

  • Kafka (AWS MSK).

  • NoSQL databases (Couchbase and DynamoDB), plus Redis/Valkey caching, and SQL.

  • AWS (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, MSK; CDK a plus).

  • Kubernetes deployment and operations, including blue/green or canary releases.

  • Scalable, fault-tolerant system design.

  • CI/CD (Jenkins/Spinnaker-style pipelines).

  • Strong communication and problem-solving.

  • Nice to have

  • Python for scripting and automation.

  • OpenSearch, Splunk or Grafana for observability.

  • AWS Glue / data pipelines.

  • Video streaming or DAI (Yospace, SCTE-35, VAST) knowledge.

  • HTTP/REST/TCP-IP, Spring.
